TMC moves SC alleging violation of court orders for free and fair Tripura municipal polls

The Trinamool Congress moved the Supreme Court on Friday seeking a probe by a court-monitored panel into the alleged large-scale violence during the municipal polls in Tripura.

As per news report of The Indian Express, A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and AS Bopanna was told by senior advocate Kapil Sibal, who sought urgent listing of two applications filed by the party, that despite the court’s order of Thursday for providing unhindered access to the media to the election process, nothing was done.He said, “There was absolute mayhem there. Even candidates were not allowed to vote. There were violent incidents. Even media reports said that there was violation of Supreme Court orders”. The bench said the court had passed a specific and detailed order on Thursday dealing with the issue.
