CBI Raids 25 Places in Bengal In Connection With Coal Scam

The CBI today raided around 40 premises across three states, including 25 in West Bengal, as part of an investigation into a coal mafia case.It is in West Bengal that Anup Majhi, the alleged kingpin of the illegal operation, is based, sources said. The home and offices of the suspect, who lives in Asansol, are being searched along with those of his associates.

As per news report of NDTV, the other two states where the raids are on or may begin shortly are Jharkhand and Bihar.In West Bengal, besides Asansol and other spots, searches are on in Durgapur, Raniganj in Burdwan district, and Bishnupur in the South 24 Parganas district.
