Delhi, July 10, 2018: The Dainik Bhaskar Group today withdrew unconditionally its application alleging contempt against Forum for Media and Literature which was previously filed as a pressure tactic. The group also unconditionally withdrew its application for taking down “Operation 136: Part 2”. The group had alleged in the contempt application that publication of Operation 136: Part 2 and sending of a questionnaire by The Wire amounted to contempt of the court, a completely frivolous allegation. Defamation suits filed by Dainik Bhaskar Group and Big FM were listed today before the Delhi High Court bench of Justice Yogesh Khanna. No reasons were given for these withdrawals. Big FM did not press for its application for injunction today. The next date for the court hearing is August 30.
