As per news report of NDTV,Ahead of the Union Budget 2025, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has proposed the introduction of joint taxation for married couples. Under joint taxation, a married couple would be treated as a single taxable unit, allowing them to combine their incomes when filing tax returns, similar to systems already in place in countries like the US and the UK.
